Career trace — from flightline ordnance to research security.
Oversee daily security operations for university research — information management, physical security, personnel security, export classifications, compliance monitoring. Build and operate security plans aligned to NIST 800-171/172 and DFARS 252.204-7012 for principal investigators. Manage federal submissions: license applications, commodity jurisdiction requests, classification determinations. Audit university policies for export-controlled activity.
Owned the company-wide information security program. Led SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audits; ran NIST 800-30 risk assessments; co-managed vendor assurance and penetration testing. Stood up SIEM-based alerting and incident response, drafted policy alongside legal and audit, and advised leadership on regulatory exposure. Trained engineering on secure code review and worked vendor risk end-to-end.
Implemented SaaS programs for enterprise customers — SSO, SFTP automation, GDPR posture. Acted as the security-aware technical resource for client dev teams; triaged customer security concerns and shepherded fixes through engineering.
Configured and maintained SAP enterprise infrastructure with security baselines and uptime SLAs. Owned event-based alerting; ran point as incident manager on high-priority issues.
Lifelong student. Cyber defense with a doctoral aim.

What I do when the SIEM is quiet.
Home lab
I build and maintain a self-hosted home network and smart-home stack — and I write up best practices for friends running the same setup.
Underwater
Experienced SCUBA diver. Technical diving and Nitrox air mixtures. The discipline transfers — preparation, redundancy, calm under pressure.
Volunteering
OSINT-assisted missing-persons reporting and data-privacy instruction for at-risk populations.
Always learning
Cybersecurity is the long game. Currently in a Master's program in Cyber Defense on a technical track aimed at a PhD.
